Cadillac Jack and Ali Mac of Kicks 101.5, working with long-time partner Carl Black Buick in Kennesaw, donated a handicap-accessible SUV for the widow of the Locust Grove police officer shot and killed last week in the line of duty.

Chase Maddox’s wife Alex was nine months pregnant when he died. She gave birth to their son Brodie a few days after his death. They also have a seven-year-old special-needs child Braydon.

When Cadillac Jack contacted T. Scott Jordan, general manager at Carl Black Buick, about donating the vehicle, Jordan said yes immediately. R&R Mobility of Conyers customized the vehicle to make it handicap accessible.

The morning team traveled to Griffin Thursday to deliver the vehicle to Alex.

“When I was holding Brodie,” Caddy said in a press release, “it was like I was holding a piece of Officer Maddox. And as a father, looking at this newborn baby, I was heartbroken that he’ll never meet his father.”

If you’d like to help the family out with donations, you could do so at any United Community Bank and ask it be deposited into “The Maddox Family Fund.”

There is also a GoFundMe site, which has raised more than $100,000 so far.
